“Visages” es un trabajo pictórico que muestra distintas maneras de ver el retrato. Aquí presento una serie de personajes que surgen de mi interior más profundo. Son imágenes de criaturas de un mundo aun por descubrir. Son caras que aparecen fuertes como el recuerdo de un sueño antiguo, pétreas como un fósil y tan fugaces como el inconsciente. Tengo que hacer un gran esfuerzo para acordarme de estos rostros ya que suelen evaporarse con rapidez y por eso algunos se parecen. Las caras están realizadas solo con las manos, con ellas las atrapo y con las manos, por fin, consigo plasmar su efímera existencia.

“Visages” is a pictorial work that shows different ways of considering the portrait. Here I present a series of characters that emerge from the depths of my interior. They are images of creatures from a world that has yet to be discovered. These faces seem like the memory of an olden dream, rocky like fossils and as fleeting as the subconscious. I must make a big effort to remember these countenances as they quickly evaporate and merge one into the other. These faces are made with my hands, with which I capture them and am finally able to express their ephemeral existence.
